Eagle’s Coffee Shops

The Stuffed Olive
(208) 938-5185 | 404 S Eagle Rd | www.thestuffedolive.net

If anyone knows how to make a great espresso, it’s the Italians.  If you stop by The Stuffed Olive for a winter pick me up, you’re in for a treat.  You can get a cup of coffee anywhere, but if you are looking for a place to sit down, have a great espresso, and enjoy the ambiance, this is it.  It’s not full of corporate wallpaper, just friendly people who love what they do.

Of course, while you are there, you’ll have to get some lunch.  Their combination of Italian favorites along with soups and sandwiches will definitely hit the spot.  Dishes like Chicken Parmigiana and Manicotti, which are made from scratch and smell marvelous while being prepared, really warm you up on a cold winter day.  But my favorite, if I must choose, is the Sourdough Tri Tip.  The bread is soft, the beef is tender, and the creamy horseradish tops it all off, making the flavors sing in harmony.  Any sandwich at The Stuffed Olive has that same divine flavor, whether it is the Turkey Bacon and Avocado, or the Meatball sandwich.  These guys know great food.

Rembrandts Coffee House
(208) 938-1372 | 93 S. Eagle Rd | www.rembrantscoffeehouse.net

‘Tis the season for giving, so why not grab a cup of coffee at the shop that donates a huge chunk of its profits to one of Eagle’s most important non-profit organizations.  Rembrants Coffee House is one of the largest supporters of The Landing Community Center and also one of the most popular coffee places in Eagle.  Exclusively serving ‘sustainable’ beans created through small batches of artisan craftsmanship, these guys are committed to great coffee.  Their dedication to quality spills over into their food, offering amazing quiches, cakes, and sandwiches made with superior ingredients.

But you can’t talk about Rembrandts without mentioning the atmosphere.  The art gallery displayed on the walls, as well as in the entry, gives this place a unique and inspiring ambiance.  Combined with the family friendly surroundings, it’s is the perfect gathering place for one and all, even Santa Claus, who will be making an appearance in December - keep your eyes open for a specific date and time.

Pamela’s Bakery
(208) 938-6585 | 360 S Eagle Rd | www.pamelasbakery.com

Ok.  Now, I know that this is supposed to be a coffee guide, and these guys do have good coffee, but I just can’t help talking about the éclairs at Pamela’s Bakery.  One bite into these flaky pastries topped with delicious chocolate and filled with creamy custard and I was hooked.  Pamela’s certainly knows a thing or two about pastry decoration, which, for me, is one of the determining factors in my delicacy selection.  Every detail is meticulously tended to, and gazing at the wide variety of pastries and cakes is like being inspired by Picasso.  You’ll have to stop in to see what I mean; you won’t be disappointed!

They also do some pretty amazing Party Platters, from sandwiches to quiche to, my favorite, the ‘Sinful Dessert Tray’, which is filled with items like cheesecake, lemon bars, and, of course, mini éclairs.  Talk about impressing your guests!  The platters are a great option for holiday parties, or better yet, New Year’s; just give Pamela’s a couple days notice to get it all put together.

Wild West Bakery
(208)939-5677 | 83 E. State St

Back in the old west, they didn’t know much about no ‘spressa, but down at the Wild West Bakery and Espresso, they know how to get it done.  Up at 4 o’clock in the morning to bring coffee to most of the businesses around the valley, Wild West Bakery runs non-stop to keep us all going.  Stop in and you’ll get a great cup of coffee with a unique atmosphere all its own.  The bakery is full of tasty items to satisfy your sweet tooth and coffee choices that will get you up and going in the morning no matter what you like.  Tie your horse up at the hitchin’ post and stop in for a cup or two this winter.  Yee-Haw!!

Espresso Italia
(208) 938-4534 | 3220 E Chinden Blvd.

Espresso Italia: obviously the name says it all.  A rich selection of espresso drinks, as well as an abundant array of pastries and goodies, make this coffee shop a must try.  Their convenient location on the corner of Eagle Road and Chinden is a great stop for your daily dose.

Moxie Java
(208) 939-8690 | 2626 Marypost Pl.
(208) 938-1359 | 435 S Eagle Rd | www.moxiejava.com

You can’t help but be proud of the local coffee shop that was able to pop up all over the valley and compete with the big corporate guys.  Moxie Java is a hometown hero that is available on nearly every corner now.  One thing never fails with this coffee shop:  quality.  Often when a coffee place goes big, their quality suffers.  Moxie Java has kept it up for years now and we look forward to more of them popping up around Eagle in the future.

Tully’s Coffee
(208) 938-9924 | 150 E. Riverside Dr. | www.tullys.com

New to the Eagle coffee scene, Tully’s is a welcomed addition to our coffee selection.  Situated near the Hilton Garden Inn, this coffee shop has a great atmosphere and friendly staff.  The patio is cozy, with a double sided fireplace leading through to the interior.  As expected, there are plenty of tasty treats to snack on while relaxing.  Tully’s is a great place to hang out and enjoy their famous coffee, or take it on the go when you’re in a hurry.

Starbucks
(208) 938-0630 | 228 E Plaza St | www.starbucks.com

Starbucks wasn’t always a corporate coffee shop.  They blazed the trail throughout the world and turned us all into latte lovers.  One of the best things about the Starbucks here in Eagle is its location.  I always like to stop by the Pak Mail next door to say hi to Tami, grab a copy of Eagle Life and head over for a cup of coffee.
